The City Recreation Department has announced the upcoming local dance competitions set to take place in January 2026. The events will occur at the downtown community center, showcasing various styles and talents from dancers across the region.
The competitions are designed to promote community involvement and celebrate the art of dance. Participants will have the opportunity to compete in categories such as ballet, hip-hop, and contemporary. The preliminary rounds begin on January 10, with finals scheduled for January 27.
Several local dance schools and studios are involved, including the City Dance Academy and Rhythm & Motion Dance Studio. Their instructors will serve as judges, and many students are expected to participate, fostering a supportive environment for young talents.
This event follows last year’s successful dance competition, which attracted over 200 participants and drew a large audience. The local dance scene is vibrant, and these competitions aim to highlight the dedication and skill of local dancers.
Community members interested in attending the competitions can purchase tickets at the community center or online starting December 20. For those wishing to participate, registration is open until December 31, with entry forms available on the City Recreation Department’s website.
